The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. While sometimes less understood than the Father and the Son, the Holy Spirit is fully God, co-equal and co-eternal, and actively at work in the world today.
Who Is the Holy Spirit?
- A Divine Person: The Holy Spirit is not a force or energy, but a Person with mind, will, and emotions. He speaks (Acts 13:2), teaches (John 14:26), grieves (Ephesians 4:30), and can be resisted (Acts 7:51).
- God: In Acts 5:3–4, lying to the Holy Spirit is equated with lying to God, affirming His divinity.
- Co-equal in the Trinity: He is mentioned alongside the Father and the Son (Matthew 28:19), sharing in the divine nature.

- The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8).
- Regeneration

- Indwelling Believers
- He lives in all who trust Christ, making them His temple (1 Corinthians 6:19).
- Empowering
- He empowers believers to live holy lives and be witnesses (Acts 1:8; Galatians 5:16–25).
- Teaching and Guiding
- He leads believers into truth and reminds them of Christ’s words (John 14:26; John 16:13).
